I am, at the moment, all in with Notion (with a side of Google Calendar…). However, I was a paper planner girl before that, and they still hold a place in my heart. While a digital system is working really well for me right now, I appreciate people who still gravitate to paper methods, so I plan to review some planners over the coming weeks, both the new and the old faves.
Because I don’t understand how these things work, I am avoiding any sort of build up and starting with my all time favorite (possibly tied with one other, that one will be up next), Yellow Paper House’s 7×9 weekly spiral planner.

Why I LOVE This Planner!
- I love how much of a blank slate it is.
- The columns are the same width as an Erin Condren, which makes it easy to find full and half box stickers or stencils, if that’s what you’re into.
- The paper is NICE. Very smooth to the touch, and thick without being too stiff or heavy- for those of you tracking the numbers, it is 32lb, 120gsm bright white paper (plus an option for 24lb, 90gsm colored note pages if you prefer that to white). I have planned using fountain pen in this planner and it didn’t bleed.
- The space surrounding the weekly spread is dot grid, as are the 40 note pages at the end of the planner. I don’t know what it is about dot grid but it makes my brain happy.

Reasons You Might Not Like This Planner
- There are no other bells and whistles or extra planning sections. However, with all the extra note pages you can make those you want and have no wasted space.
- The undated (which is in my pics) has a monthly section and a weekly section, so the monthly spread doesn’t directly preceed the weeklys for that month (but the dated one comes in the typical month/week x4 format).
- The covers aren’t changable, but you can pop EC planners onto the rings (YMMV, I haven’t done this since last year).
- There is not an 18 month version, and there is only the option for July-August.
- The only customization options are cover design and note section color.
- The cover designs aren’t super trendy, although more options have been available recently.
Overall, though, this planner hits all my main criteria- no color or distractions, black ink (why on earth are so many planners printed in blue ink?), dot grid notes, minimal guidance in the weekly and monthly spread. But if you have other things you prefer in a planner you may want to look elsewhere…
…or tune in for my next review.
OH, and head over to my TikTok where I will be giving this planner away! I mean, otherwise I’ll just have to toss it (or save it for when I get tired of Notion, lol).
